1. First, and by all means do not skip this step, BACKUP YOUR DATA! Please see the http://www.nmcollector.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2 post in this forum for detailed instructions.
2. Since NM Collector Software can be run on Windows, Mac, Linux, or even directly from a USB Flash Drive, the second step is to select the correct upgrade for your operating system. Go to the JE Evaluation download site http://www.nmcollectorsoftware.com/downloads/Subscr/index.htm and download the correct file for your situation from the "Upgrade Only" Column.
- For a USB Flash Drive, download the file named USB_Upgrade.zip
- For Windows, download the file named NMCollectorJE forWinUpgrade.exe
- For Mac, download the file named NMCollectorJE forMacUpgrade.zip
- For Linux, download the file named NMCollectorJE6 Upgrade.zip
3. Once the appropriate file is downloaded, open it and extract the contents to your current installation directory. The zip files behave differently based on the configuration of your system.
Here is an example of the USB Flash Drive upgrade zip file on a standard Window XP system.
In this case, just copy the contents of the directory to the root of your NM Collector Software USB Flash drive. In the picture below, that would be drive E:
Here is an example for a Windows Upgrade. For Windows, I am able to provide a self extracting executable for the upgrade which makes it much easier. In this case, once the NMCollectorJE forWinUpgrade.exe file has been downloaded, simply double click it to run it. After an initial instruction, you will see the following window.
Click the browse button to locate your original installation directory. It is important to select the original directory that YOU installed NM Collector Software to. In this case that would be C:NMCollectorJE.
Once you have selected the appropriate directory, click the Unzip button in the previous window.
Mac and Linux will be similar to the USB example but you would extract the files to your installation directory.
