Engraved 1903

Years ago my son got invited to go Elk hunting with some friends.  I had no hunting rifles at the time and he did not want to take one of my military rifles despite me telling him how cool that would be.  Anyway, we decided to compromise and shop for a nice sporterized military rifle.

 

We found one that would work for him AND I came across this one.  It is a beautiful rifle that I purchased from the son of the man who had it sporterized and engraved.  The son said the work was done in the '60s but he had no records of it and could not remember who did it.

The serial number is low enough that this is just a wall hanger for me
