Bottom line: NM Collector Software CP runs great on Windows 11!
Back Story for those interested ...
I knew it was coming. The warning signs were upon us. However, I do not like upgrading Windows (I do for security reasons but that does not mean I like to do it) much less changing to an entirely new release. However, I knew I was going to have to do it at some point in time.
Then it happened. A customer informed me that they are going to buy a new computer and wanted to know if NM Collector Software CP would run on Windows 11. My answer was "I don't know but I will find out."
The way I saw it I had 3 options. 1) Upgrade one of my existing Windows 10 computers to Windows 11. 2) Ask my customers if anyone had tried, or was willing to try, NM Collector CP on Windows 11. 3) Buy a new (at least to me) computer with the ability to run Windows 11 (already installed or not).
Option 1 turned out not to be feasible. I have an old desktop computer that I rarely use so I decided to upgrade it. Unfortunately, the hardware could not support Windows 11. There is no way I am going to upgrade my current development computer for fear that my development environment would break.
Option 2 seems unprofessional. I definitely ask for feedback on NM Collector CP. I think it helps improve the product. However, what kind of software development company would I be if I can't even test my own product on new operating systems. No, that was out of the questions.
