I purchased NM Collector V3.0.1 from Brownells and have not used it yet (nor have I registered it yet). I see there is a newer version 4.x. I am ready to start utilizing your software to organize my collection records.

It says that upgrades are downloadable and free... but I am not sure how to do this. Also - if I use the Android APP - is it possible to link my laptop to my Smartphone via Google Chrome to make the photograph insertion easier?
I am running Windows 10 with Chrome, and also use an Android Smart Phone.

Please advise on both how to register my current version and also how to update it.

Hi,

Yes, you have an out of date copy and it would be best to upgrade it. You can download the latest here: https://www.nmcollectorsoftware.com/download/. Please select the USB option since that is what you currently have. Then follow the instructions under "How To Migrate Your Database From The Old Installation to the New Installation." I would suggest you backup your entire usb first by copying it to a safe location on your hard drive or another usb flash drive so you can recover it if you run into any problems. If it seems to difficult, you can send your drive to me and I will upgrade it for you.

Regarding linking the Android app to the desktop data, you have to use the import and export features to transfer your data. How you get your data to and from your phone is up to you. One way to do that is using Google Drive which is accessible from your phone and your PC.

BTW, there is no need to register NM Collector Software.
