Install NM Gun Collector Software on a removable Memory Card or USB Flash Drive.
With constantly changing technology my customers
keep me on my toes. One very useful
approach that I recently developed for a friend of mine with a very large
collection is setting up NM Gun Collector Software to run on a memory
card (or USB Flash Drive). The advantages of this approach
are many but his biggest concern was security.
Using this approach he can keep his data locked up when not using it. As an additional bonus he can easily work on
the same database either on his desktop or his notebook computer with no worry
of inconsistent or lost data.
NOTES:
·
I give individuals permission to use NM Gun Collector
Software on multiple machines – but not to share it with others. Businesses and/or Government Agencies must
purchase one copy per machine.
·
Technically, the memory card appears on your computer as
a “Removable Disk.”
Steps to setup NM Gun Collector Software on a Memory Card:
1.
Install NM Gun Collector Software on the C drive of your
computer. The purpose of this step is to
let the computer know about the program.
This step is required for every computer that you intend to run NM Gun
Collector Software on.
2.
Insert the Memory Card that you want to use into the
reading device attached to your computer.
It will show up as a
3.
Move (not Copy) the entire NM Gun Collector Software installation
directory to the Memory Card. The reason
for moving it is to avoid confusion when you go to run the software. This way the program will only run when you
have the proper Memory Card installed.
4.
Create a shortcut from the nmGunCollector.exe that you
just copied (in the NM Gun Collector Software installation directory) to the
root directory of your
5.
You can now run NM Gun Collector Software directly from
the memory card and write data to the memory card.
